Senior System Engineer with Linux experience required to take ownership for open-source operating systems across the firm. The client has projects this year associated with updating the Linux operating system, bringing new applications onto that new system whilst also analysing applications that can not be brought across.

The position will also include system stabilization, monitoring, configuring new tools / systems, process improvement and where possible automating daily tasks to free up resources.

Required Experience

• Linux RHEL / Unix experience
• Help design and architect operational solutions for managing applications and infrastructure, across data centers and cloud providers with the specific goal of increasing the automation, repeatability, and consistency of operational tasks
• Monitor and manage the performance and capacity of infrastructure components
• Capacity planning and management for various services.
• Resolve bugs, performance problems, and other issues with production applications
• Evaluate, implement, and configure infrastructure products.
• Basic understanding of network protocols, principles and concepts
• Strong communication skills and able to effectively understand complex problems and interact with both business and technical teams
